Director, Corporate Quality Assurance- Supply and Copack

Your Opportunity as the Director, Corporate Quality Assurance- Supply and Copack The Director of Quality Assurance Supply and Copack is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the development, implementation and management of JMS supplier and co-manufacturing quality assurance and food safety programs.
This position will build and develop the supplier and co-manufacturing QA teams focused on the consumer, coffee, and the pet SBA's.
This role collaborates with corporate QA, supply chain, sourcing, and R&D leadership on developing and implementing continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.
This role is a member of the Corporate QA Leadership Team and will collaborate in the development of our annual and long-range plan as well as the key performance metrics for the team.
As needed, this role will provide support in issue resolution and correction.

Hybrid, 25-40% in office expectation In this role you will:
Provide strategic leadership in the development, enhancement and implementation of Quality and Food Safety continuous improvement strategies that result in compliance to all company, customer, consumer, and regulatory expectations.
For all company ingredient, packaging and co-manufacturing suppliers, this role is the main liaison between Corporate QA and cross-functional partners in Operations, Engineering, TSO, R&D, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Regulatory and JMS Legal and business teams.
Ensure programs are in place to monitor and assure JMS suppliers and co-manufacturing facilities quality and food safety programs are compliant with JMS, federal, state, and local regulations including HACCP, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) such as BRC certifications, Kosher, GMO, Organic etc Attract, retain, and develop the supplier and co-manufacturing QA employees.
Co-lead new copacker and supplier on-going for all SBA's and operations.
Direct the development of new and revision of existing standard operating procedures for the supply and co-manufacturing businesses.
Proactively analyze consumer complaints data and assess trends, gaps and immediate concerns if applicable.
Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain to reduce consumer complaints and improve food safety and quality.
Collaborate with leaders on distribution and Storage opportunities including support for market actions requiring product holds and tracing.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree 10 years of food manufacturing and QA experience (plant and corporate experience) People management experience A working knowledge of food safety/microbiology, wet & dry sanitation, human & pet nutrition, human & pet regulatory requirements, meat processing/rendering.
A working knowledge of FDA & USDA Regulations and inspections, including HACCP, cGMPs and FSMA Experience with GFSI and particularly, BRC certifications Ability to quickly learn and understand risks of a wide variety of manufacturing processes and product profiles.

Ability to build trusting and caring relationships with cross functional partners while working through challenging circumstances for the best overall solution while protecting food safety and quality.
High level of organizational skills.
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Prodika, Proficy, SharePoint, etc.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Highly detail oriented.
Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs.
Self-motivated with a high energy level.
Position may require 35-50% travel annually (some international travel may be required) Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
Food Science or related scientific degree.
Master's or advanced degree.
Experience and operational and/or technical knowledge of consumer food/snack manufacturing and/or QA.
PCQI certification or will need to become certified within a short time frame.
